All right...as you can see I posted a quote from the Twilight Zone. This was on my "Author" face book page...Which really doesn't have any propaganda..mostly pretty pictures and promotion of my book. It is true My Personal page will have lots of information on different subjects.
However: Propagandist bullshit? Hmm...And who is the WE? And finally...Why I am bringing this up is: "Your children need "our" shots...WTF...is he telling me to vaccinate my children?????? GEE...he must not follow me very closely: Why do I say this? Because people who follow me know my children are FULLY vaccinated...And it wasn't until the Gardasil vaccination that I even second guessed vaccination. This "comment" I find most offensive because it scared me. How dare he say I stand for everything WE oppose...as in I am not part of WE, thus not a citizen, not anything...and next..."our" shots???? Really???? As if my children need to do what he says....I am sickened by this comment. And confused. Am I to be scared? Should I not express my opinion? Should I just bow down and say I don't question things? And why this status...Its a quote from a movie...nothing more...And finally...What does he mean by chasing ultimatum?
In this the new America? Is this how we interact with people?
Why do people believe the state, or rather government is a parent-like entity? Does it stem from religion, or is it monarchical in nature, as the King had supreme power, thus in fact played a role of being the overall parent? Would love feed-back on this one so we can come up with some solutions.
Why do People Steal? I get when people are desperate and need to feed their children or themselves. What I am talking about is petty things. My daughter's friend (she has so many) got into her wallet and stole her hard earned money. My teenager goes to school and works a job, so needless to say, it not only made her angry, it made her sad and feeling confused. The girl didn't need the money, in fact she used it for hair products. Why would she think this was okay? I wouldn't say it is entitlement, or resentment, the girl's parents both work, she lives in a nicer house than we do, so why would she do it? Anyway...That is my thought of the day....I am trying to understand what it takes to be a thief, to steal for no reason at all. What are your thoughts on this? Remember, in order to leave a comment, you only need a first name and comment...No email...No subscription....Easy Peezy-lemon-squeezy.
This little doll means the world to me. When I was a child my babysitter's daughter, her name was liberty, the daughter not the sitter; had a Raggedy Ann doll. It was a life-size (child life-size) doll that I played with every single day. One day we were moving, and I was sad and was saying bye to the doll, but the babysitter knew I loved her so much that she gave it to me, her daughter was mad (Liberty was my age, a bit on the mean side, but I assure you....Liberty didn't love the doll like I did)...So her mother explained to Liberty about how much I loved the doll and that I was moving...So she gave in.
And I couldn't be happier!!! I took my doll everywhere, we had years of love together, but we moved again, this time, even though I knew I should keep her with me, I let everyone talk me into putting her in a box. Sadly the box was lost, and my heart broke. I cried for days, because to me this Raggedy Ann Doll was real (I had her from 5 to 7 1/2)....I never got over the loss.
Today is my birthday...And Deavan....Bless her heart...has been telling Steve and Raven for awhile that they should get me a doll...the only problem was the one's she would find were dirty and old...But thankfully they brought back this version, but I kept telling them...I am too old and that it is silly for a woman of my age to get a doll. Flash forward, Raven and I are at Toys-r-us (Raven's birthday is the day before mine), looking around because Raven doesn't know what she wants for her birthday. I spot the Raggedy Ann doll and softly touch her little, perfect dress, and comment on how perfect she is.
So my family decides, let's do it. Raven and Steve went back to the store, and Raven carefully picked out the right one. (She really is perfect) And this morning I opened my present and I burst into tears. It made my heart feel so warm and special, it was as if I got back a piece of the heart I lost when I lost my best friend. So even though I know its silly, and a little weird for a 38-year-old woman to get a Rag Doll....I am so moved and happy and want to thank my family for giving me such a precious, wonderful, and heartfelt gift. I couldn't have dreamed up a better family. Thank you for making my birthday so Perfect!!!!
And to all my friends who have wished me a Happy Birthday. THANK YOU!!! Sending all my love to you and those around you. XOXO Elicia Clegg
Its Raven's and my birthday weekend...So we will be off line until Monday! Have a Great Weekend. Peace Out
Did You know: Each year in the United States, at least 2 million people become infected with bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics, and at least23,000 people die each year as a direct result of these infections. Many more people die from other conditions that were complicated by an antibiotic-resistant infection. (CDC).
But why? Why do we have super-bugs? Resistance occurs when an antibiotic is no longer effective at killing or limiting the growth of bacteria. It can occur naturally (innate ability or genetic mutation), or can be acquired through previous exposure to an antibiotic or through contact with another organism that is resistant (transfer of resistance). There are several ways that bacteria can resist the effects of antibiotics. Some bacteria develop the ability to neutralize the antibiotic before it can harm them, others can change the antibiotic attack site so it cannot affect the function of the bacteria, and still others can pump the antibiotic out of the cell or prevent the antibiotic from getting into the cell (antibiotic awareness).
Thought of the day: If "over use" of antibiotics has made some bacteria so strong we no longer have a way to kill them; then what are vaccines doing? This is a very scientific question....One that I am not alone in asking.
The following are sources of information. They to are asking What are Vaccines doing? And they are finding that maybe...just maybe over vaccination is doing the same thing as over use in antibiotics.
(listing sources first so I don't lose my audience by the sheer mention of vaccines):
From Prevent Diseases: "It is becoming evident that Vaccines are causing an unprecedented number of mutations creating superbugs and potent viruses and bacteria that may eventually threaten future generations and humanity itself. Evidence continues to mount from the scientific community who now admit that certain vaccines are in-fact causing both viral and bacterial mutations. Ironically, the same researchers assert that "better" vaccines are needed to offset the rise in persistent mutations.Life-threatening pathogens are capable of evolving rapidly and developing genetic decoys that serve to disguise them from even the most powerful drugs. University of Oxford researcher Rory Bowden found that pathogens switch genetic material with other bacteria, but predominantly for the part of the genome responsible for making the cell coating, which is the area targeted by vaccines."
What do you think? After knowing what anti-biotics did...Could we be setting up the perfect storm? Do you think that more vaccines is the question? Will we get to a day that we have to have 3 vaccinations per disease: You know one for the original, one for the mutant, and one more the super-bug? (We are already at 49 doses for 14 diseases by age 6) Will we get to the point where we will have to vaccinate for everything...and in the end (Knowing that Vaccines are not 100% effective) Will the vaccine program become just a poor knock off of original immune system? But instead of the original: Some dying from a disease...we will have some die from the disease because vaccines do fail...and some kids sick from the "side-effects" of the vaccine. (Vaccines, as the WHO and CDC say: are unavoidable unsafe. With each new Vaccine added...Your chances of severe adverse reaction occur.
My advice: The scientific community has to STOP FAST TRACKING vaccines. The scientific community needs to DEMAND for independent safety and efficacy studies. We need to stop vaccinated against things that are NOT air-borne, if we can "avoid" the illness by not exchanging bodily fluids...then we should focus on education. Maybe we need to rethink vaccines that had a low "death" rate and low "side-effect" rate: like Chicken Pox....the vaccine is also in question because of the increase of Shingles...Chicken Pox is less dangerous than Shingles by far. The scientific community needs to STOP treating vaccines like "god" this is not a religion, if a vaccine is causing mutations...You better study it...After all...its your future too.
My advice to the general population: Time to stop blaming each other. Time to stop the witch hunting against people who do not vaccinate. Vaccinations are a very important and deeply personal decision, especially when a family member is forever changed by a vaccination. We need to unite....Because in the end: We all want healthy children... Let us not fight each other...Let us focus on solutions to this ever growing problem.
Yes disease is scary. Life is scary. But do we really need to "help" diseases? Are we really in a better place today than we were a few years ago? Just because people "live" longer...doesn't mean they are healthier or even happier. And as we know...It just came out that This generation of children are not estimated to live as long as their parents...So we are actually working backwards...aren't we? (And all the while...parents are losing the right to refuse vaccination...and not just parents...Adults left and right are being "coerced" into vaccination)
As always have a beautiful day. XOXO.
"In many ways (censorship) is caused by the audience themselves." Please watch the above interview. It speaks volumes of how Authors always struggle to be their own person and write what they want. :) I have a great respect for this man.
Running with the bulls? Yesterday I saw a picture of this bull, and it reminded me of running the bulls at San Sebastien de los Reyes...I pop it into the old search engine and find out that Running With the Bulls is coming to America? Not sure if this is a new thing, but it certainly caught me off guard.
My question, put aside all morality issues, would you run with the bulls? To quote one website promoting the run: "Get ready for the thrill of a life time. Put your life on the line by running ¼ of mile in front of twelve – 1500lbs raging bulls with horns. The Phoenix Running of the Bulls, is the most adrenaline pumping, crazy dangerous thing you will ever do. Test your skills, impress your friends and check an extreme sport off your bucket list."
Would I run with the bulls...oh hell no! Putting the moral issues aside, it seems a bit too crazy. What about you all out there? Now be honest, because from what I found you will have your chance. In Utah they have some scheduled in SLC, and Heber City. The quote above is from Arizona, so I assume there will be other places. To be honest with you, I don't even think I would watch. When you put: running with the bulls, into the old search engine you get to see gory pictures of the bulls killing people, not so fun, but a lot of people make it, and seem to enjoy it.
In the end, I suppose it would be interesting on some level (remember take out the moral question of it) to tell people, yes I ran with the bulls...but on the other hand I wouldn't want to take the chance of being impelled by a horn. Peace out my friends.
And for those would like to run with the bulls here is a website that lists events.
Do you read Comments? Originally I was thinking about reincarnation, and wondering how many people believe in it and why.... HOWEVER...I ran across this story done by NPR, it was an interview with an author of the book "Return to Life", and the comments blew me away. I started thinking: has the world gone mad, utterly insane? Why are they "fighting" over an author interview...To explain, here is the first comment: (The article is an interview with an author who wrote a book on reincarnation)
"It's a bit frustrating that there was 0 fact checking in this article. There is really no evidence for this, and far more evidence for false memory implanting. Memory is not a video recording, it is malleable and changeable by the questioner... I really expect more from NPR." (edited for misspelling)
I read this and thought...What? Fact checking? Lucky, so did the next person and they wrote: ""Fact-checking" an interview with an author? The way it works is this: The author talks about his or her book. If you are interested in it, read it. If not, move on."
And to my surprise...The first man responded: "It doesn't become okay for NPR to spread falsehoods if those falsehoods are in a book. There are books that say you can cure disease with crystals or that wifi radiation threatens kids. I hope the for-profit trend of fake ghost and Bigfoot "documentaries" on the History, Discovery and Learning Channels isn't gong to start infecting NPR now, too." (edited for misspelling)
And then the games began.....Over 200 comments....Again the entire article was simply a "transcript" of an interview with a man who wrote a book. You can see the article here. And it turned into a spiritual war. And then, as par for the course, the people started clumping people together: If you are a christian fundamentalist you don't believe in Global Warming. If you believe in reincarnation you believe in Big Foot. IF you...If you...blah, blah, blah...blah...blah....
Can you tell I am sick of people "clumping" people together. I think this is a side-effect of the Two Party system. You as a person are only capable of deciding which side you are on...and that is it...no more independent thought.
Could it be possible that someone believes in both reincarnation and heaven? Or what if you believe in reincarnation and no heaven? I mean from what I know....Humans are capable of forming their own thoughts and beliefs and they don't fit neatly into categories. It is true that people who believe in "fringe" science are more prone to fantastical beliefs, but the man was trying to follow the scientific method...something that many pharmaceutical companies are ignoring (Look at me clumping people together). My favorite clumping together: Parents who don't spank let their children run a muck. Interestingly enough this last one came as a shock to me. My niece had surgery and so I took her out to eat dinner and she said to me: "So what does Deavan just get to do whatever she wants?" I kind of coughed, then asked her what she meant by the question. She had heard people talking about how I am against spanking so naturally I don't have any rules, I let my child run over the top of me, and I offer no guidelines. Really? Interesting. I explained to her my parenting style, my rules, and that each rule, if broken had a specific punishment. The rules are kept on the Fridge. She smiled, I think she was still confused, but she liked my system.
My thoughts: Comments offer us an insight on the trends of human behavior, but only to an extent. Just like any survey...their is something missing: The very people who choose not to comment or choose not to participate in the survey. Usually with Comments you have people who are really passionate...right? I mean there are many people who have an opinion, but keep it to themselves....they could be just as passionate, but decide...nope, not worth my time.
What are you trying to say Elicia? Okay...Okay...I am just trying to say that our society is full of different people, with different ideas, and we should not dismiss someone based on their belief in either Science or God or any other hot topic button. (Yes...science is a hot topic button...it is the very nature of science: Question everything.) Just because someone doesn't believe in vaccination, doesn't mean they are a religious nut....There are scientists who don't believe in them.
I see that I am rambling now. Caught in-between the idea of freedom of expression and stupid fighting over silly things. I mean just by me calling it silly...I am being dismissive and judgmental....Maybe for that person reincarnation is very disturbing and he is concerned about the children having "memories" implanted into their brains. In the end, I suppose the best thing to do is take each comment with a "grain of salt" ...... Remember: "Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same." Reigler.
Well have a wonderful day my friends. Chin up!!! Smile...and try to live the three musketeer way: One for all, and all for one. :)
"I get by with a little help from my friends!!!!"
Bear with me as I am a storyteller and I tend to read into things a bit deeper than perhaps I should. Before I get to it, let me explain how I got to the thought I am about to share. I have been doing “thought of the day” on my website…as a means to keep sharp and kind of share random things that pop into my head.
On my Facebook page I posted about the federal reserves and wondered how we owed 1.2 trillion dollars to Social Security. My cousin, who I love, read a comment that said Bill Clinton borrowed the money…then she wrote that Ronald Reagan borrowed the money. Two thoughts occurred…the first was…Who in the mother loving F cares who borrowed the money…it wasn’t theirs to borrow.
Next thought, know thy enemy…our enemy…when dealing with trying to educate people on the evil concept of the greater good, utilitarianism, and eugenics…is sometimes the general public who doesn’t know. The general public who buys into the two party system.
Then my thoughts wondered and I said: We must stop fighting. It is these trifle things, that are important, but not the root, you cannot build a house on sand and argue about the bricks…sure the bricks they bought might be bad…but who cares…the house is on sand???? RIGHT.
So then the Beatles Song: I get by with a little help from my friends popped into my head.
I tend to stop and listen when I hear a song pop into my head, because more often than not…they do have a meaning…even if it is simply a perceived meaning…there is meaning nonetheless.
Okay: I love my cousin. We are so different on many things…She accused me of being a republican once…Oh My Gosh…I thought my head was going to explode…so I tell her…I voted for JOHNSON. And her reply: Isn’t that the guy hat wanted to legalize pot. My eyes roll...another example of how we are different. I posted I am against the Affordable Health Care Act…she said that meant I simply didn’t want to pay for insurance. This of course made me mad because I have carried health insurance since I was 18…that’s right folks…I have carried insurance for darn near 20 years…But I digress…
WHY???? Because I love her…and I know she is a good person…and on the fundamental level…as in the ground the house is to be built on…we have the same views. We both love our children and our family, and so I continue to share with her…in hopes that one day she will sit down with me, keep an open mind, and listen to what I have to say.
Back to the song and the profound truth that at least I…found in it…and I wonder…could my interpretation be correct?
“What would you think if I sang out of tune, Would you stand up and walk out on me? Lend me your ears and I’ll sing you a song, And I’ll try not to sing out of key. Oh I get by with a little help from my friends, Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends. Mmm going to try with a little help from my friends.”
MY thoughts: We all need at least a friend who is willing to sit down with us. We need them to hear what we are saying, even if it is going to upset them…and if it does upset them…we need to know they are not going to stand up and walk out on us. And…if they do listen…and they think: By golly you’ve got something here…they can encourage us to run with it (you know get high on your ideas, beliefs, and convictions) With this encouragement we can “try” to change the world, one person, one thought at a time.
In the end, I have found these people. Sometime I upset my friends with my different views. Many people found it odd when I started saying: Umm….I think we don’t have any freedom left…and I pointed out that we don’t get to choose what we do or do not put in our bodies. I pointed out that the so-called notion that The Greater Good…is not a “good” concept…as in reality it is simply mob rules…..But they stood by me, didn’t walk out, and sometimes they argue with me, but in the end, they keep an open mind….And that is what we need right now.
We need open minds!!! We need to surround ourselves with people who are willing to listen. And we too need to keep our minds open. We need to put aside our “differences” and really listen to those we love. We should never become bullies.
As Nietzsche said: “Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster.”
This is very important. If I were to go around calling people, who don’t listen to the truth, “sheep” then in a way I am becoming a part of the problem. It is frustrating I know, but how can you expect someone to listen to you when you are calling them names? Maybe I am wrong. What do you think? How do you “open minds” and “open eyes”
I hate being called a “tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist”…… it hurts my feelings and makes me feel like I have been written off….so the opposite must be true.
To sum up: We must continue to fight the “monsters” We must continue to speak out. We must fix this house built on sand, but we must also have our own foundation. We must have people that are like minded with us…WHY? Its hard to get by without anyone. The stronger you are…the stronger your foundation…the more likely people are willing to listen.

Shit I want to Post
