Today I have a question, rather than a memory to share. Raven and I started learning about World History, and as we walk, we ended up talking about how close the characters in Hetalia
come to the actual countries. This led to a question. Remember we walk from one to two hours, so our brains start cranking out weird and sometimes, scary questions. Here was my question to Raven:
Imagine if you will, you take all the Major Countries, no instead let's keep it small: Russia, United States, China, England, France, Japan, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Scotland, Ireland, Sweden...Yes let's do these countries...You can add any you would like, but no subtracting. Let us also say that we take away all weapons except bows and arrows, knives, and maybe a few bats...but no guns. No bombs, no chemical weapons, none of that. Then you take 1,000 people from each country. BUT, here is the big kicker. The 1,000 must represent the whole of the country. Example: If you are from the United States: 233 would all be under 18. 141 would have to be over 65. 508 would have to be female. 9.4 would have to be from prison. Here's where it gets fun. Of the 626 people that are with in a reasonable fighting age (Would you really have under 18 fight or those over 65?) 318 women and 308 men: 190 of the women have to be overweight and 231 men would have to be overweight. (Now this doesn't mean they aren't healthy, maybe they just have a high BMI, its just a fun thing to throw in). And of those 626, some would have to have cancer, some would have to have diabetes, etc. So you catch my drift, right? The 1,000 has to fully represent the masses. (So yes, if the population has a BIG enough percentage of soldiers, you could have a couple of soldiers, but no Super Soldiers ;) )
Which country would win? We came to a startling conclusion. I won't say yet who we thought would win, because I want to know: Who do you think would win? Especially when you add in health issues? Populations, welfare people, people addicted to drugs, etc.
Don't be shy!!! And as always, have a wonderful day.
Thought of the day: How long do you think it would take? Imagine if you will: you have a dream where you lie down in a bed and fall asleep only to wake up in your real bed. Now imagine this happens each and every night. How long do you think it would take before you begin questioning which one was reality? I ask this because it happened to me the other night and I thought, gee, is it possible? If I dream that I fall asleep only to wake up, would I eventually start questioning reality?
What do you think? I actually believe that most would at least begin to question reality. How could you not? Think about it, every night you lie down and wake up in your bed, so what happens when you lie down in a dream every night only to wake up.
I will leave you with a quote from 12 Monkeys: " I am mentally divergent, in that I am escaping certain unnamed realities that plague my life here. When I stop going there, I will be well. Are you also divergent?"
In order to be part of today's: Thought of the Day, you must, for argument sake, take the question as a fictional question (regardless of your faith or lack thereof). If I asked: What would you do if, while cutting down a tree, it started talking to you and asked you not to cut it down? Well you could answer that question—See, Fun! ;)
I went down the deep dark tube of YouTube the other day. And as I was watching someone talk they said something that made me pause the video, rewind, and play again. Yep, he said it, he said that The Light Is A Trick?! HUH?
Okay, so for arguments sake. Let’s us pretend that when we die, the soul leaves the body (remember keep the religious beliefs aside) and we first see our body, and then move toward the heavens. We are greeted with a tunnel of light. Now also pretend, in this moment you hear your own mind say: The Light is a Trick, don’t go into the light.
Two immediate thoughts come to mind, at least for me: One, why the hell should I listen to some random guy on the internet? I don’t know him. And Two, maybe I should reflect on the implications of this, because they are vast.
What I have learned over the years is this: When someone says something outlandish and contrary to what I think, or well…what I have never thought about before, because hey, why would I ever contrive that the light is a trick. I don’t immediately search out any information. I sit back and think about it intrinsically. I try to block out the noise of everyone else and come to a solution.
I think, well, that just wouldn’t be fair, I mean, if it is a trick and people I love (who I must now assume aren’t really them) are guiding me and pulling me into the beautiful light, the breath of God…why wouldn’t I go? Then I think, well what would happen if I didn’t go into the light? If you have read my book: Soul Distortion, you might know about the Soul Snatchers. The doomed souls that roam around in a realm unseen by most humans, waiting for you to fall asleep, so they can steal away your soul and occupy your body. If I turned from the light and started walking around…wouldn’t I end up just a lost soul, and (going off my fictional model) I would slowly turn mad, bent on getting back to earth.
Then another thought came. Who has seen the old black and white Twilight Zones? Well Season 3, Episode 19, entitled: The Hunt…brings up this point…well sort of. An old man loves his dog, they go hunting, and unfortunately they pass on. The old man finds himself walking down a long road and comes across the Pearly Gates of “Heaven”…He is invited in, and oh it is tempting….but the dog can’t come in. The old man said no thank-you, the man at the gate tells him, just come in and I will sneak the dog in around the side. The old man still says no thank-you and begins walking with his dog until he comes to the second gate, which actually is Heaven. Just before the man enters with his dog, he makes sure his wife won’t get tricked by the first gate, and the “real” Heaven gate-keeper said she would be fine and be along shortly.
I remember when I first watched it thinking, well how will she know the first gate isn’t real? She doesn’t have a dog with her?
And In this episode I realized: What if the White Light Was a Trick? How in the heck would we know? So what do you do? In this fictional situation…Let us say you die…and the light is pulling you toward it? Do you go?
I will tell you that this scenario actually frightens me. Why? Well, the implications are vast. If there really is an afterlife that means we are eternal creatures…and to get locked into an eternal future, without having all the facts…well that seems a bit odd…
So: I think, in this fictional thought of the day, I will pause just before entering the white light. I will then call out in every direction…and maybe start walking…or floating around…just to take a look. Of course in my fictional mind, I fear becoming a Soul Snatcher…so I will have to be very quick…and if I feel my mind slipping into a black abyss of bedlam…I will quickly run toward the light.
That’s it my friends. Thanks for joining me. And thanks for keeping this as a Fictional Situation…Its just a fun way to start thinking outside the box.
When the world wakes up, there will be a vast shift, it will be hard, we will struggle, but we can, much like taking the bandage off quickly, come out of this and end much of the pain and suffering people all over the world deal with.
Does it frighten you that Since 1913, the beginning of the Centralized Privately Held Federal Reserves started our Debt Money system, that 1.00 of that day, is only worth .04 today? Does it frighten you that the Federal Reserves is a private company and all money the US prints is debt money? Well don't be frightened. Change, though difficult, can actually be for the better...Think about it: How wonderful would it be if a Dollar was actually worth a Dollar? Because what is the dollar, but a representation of a unit of work. At least it should be.
As the world is thrown into chaos, remember We ARE stronger than they say, we ARE smarter than you believe, and we can rise up with courage, deal with it in another way. We will get through this. :) They will throw fear at us, war, and plague, but if we can enter this age with wisdom, we will win and be free once more. I don't know about you, but I am sick of War, and with war comes disease.

"I must have dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street
Now, did you read the news today?
They say the danger has gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
They're burning into the night
There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?
Now This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in
I remember long ago
When the sun was shining
And all the stars were bright all through the night
In the wake of this madness, as I held you tight
So long ago
Stand up and let's start showing.....Just where our lives are going to"
Let us end this time of war...My thoughts today: “If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.”
― A.A. Milne
That's it my lovely friends. Peace out...I'll see you on the flip-side.
Part 1 of ∞ (if indeed we are infinite creatures)
I’ve been thinking a lot about this Hamilton and Price theory on the human behavior of altruism (being kind)…and Price’s newer formulation which pointed toward an obvious implication. If the equation (on human behavior) demands the spread of altruistic behavior based on the need to survive, the need to protect the child, it also demands the opposite. It demands that torture, rape, and murdering your neighbors is also a behavior based on the need to survive.
Immediately I get a little knot in my stomach, and so did Price, he spent his life trying to disprove the very mathematical formula he came up with.
Why? Because it doesn’t answer the real question of human morality, or lack thereof. Let us assume, morality is a simple word and not convoluted by arguments and a strict set of rules. For this paper, let us say morality is simply: Do not impose your will on others-even if it is to save their lives-did I get anyone upset by this? Why yes, you wouldn’t sit there and watch a baby starve to death…you wouldn’t let someone drown in front of you…that is not very moral.
See…it already begins. (please click read more)
I woke up at five a.m., for no particular reason. I walked outside and looked up at the sky: My breath was taken away.
It stormed yesterday, the moon is sleeping, and the lights are, for the most part, out. And all you can see is the vastness of the beautiful Universe. In these moments I wished I had a camera that could capture the beauty that is all around, but alas I don't. As I stared up at the sky I lifted my hands up and wished I could touch the stars and feel eternity.
Who has seen Contact with Jodie Foster? If you have, would you have gone? I know I would have...and if you did...and you saw what Jodie saw...would your life change forever, you bet it would. To know we are not alone is a terrifying thought to some, after all humans can be very cruel, and it would seem that those with the greatest technology conquer without giving it a second thought. I personally believe that even if there are horrific things out there that would try to harm us, there must also be those that want to help. So today I will simply focus on the Vast Beauty of this world.
re ghosts real? If so, what are they? This question often comes to my mind. Are they simply an apparition of the mind, just a way of the brain playing a little trick? I suppose this could be true. I have watched many a documentary on ghosts, but never really seen concrete evidence; yet I believe they exist. This brings us to a new thought: What are they? Some people say they are demons others, lost souls...but what do you think?
I play with this one a lot, especially when I am writing books...If you have read Castigate My Sins or Soul Distortion or Running with Chaos, you know I have many different theories on ghosts. Last night I was working on Devil on the Windowsill and working out some issues with the Soul Snatchers, and I thought...Gee...Could they be real? Could there really be creatures walking around attempting to push your soul out of your body and steal it, the body, not the soul?
Nevertheless, regardless of them being real...they do pose an interesting take on the world. I had one friend suggest they may live in alternate dimensions, and somehow the beings can be slightly seen in this dimension. I have other friends warn me it is the Devil playing tricks on us, and some still that don't believe in ghosts at all.
What do you think?
As always...Have a LOVELY DAY!!!!
Sorry, I have been off line for a few days. I have been busy thinking over a problem: Our present educational system. I have been compiling information, and the more information I read, the more I question: Why? I asked myself: What is the most pressing issue that we are facing as human beings, I came up with three, which I believe if addressed, could solve a lot of problems. These issues, in order of importance: GeoEngineering, Fiat Banking, and Compulsory Education.
While other things are very important: The corrosion of the American Constitution, the lose of rights, forced medication, vaccination, fluoride in the water, unable to collect rain water, taxes on solar panels, Monsanto, the break down of parent-child bonds, profit prison, abuse of powers, WWIII, and much more....We can only take on so many things. I believe through spreading information we can and will change the world, as it has been said: The Pen is Mightier than the Sword. The reason for this is simple, once someone becomes aware of the problem, they begin to search out the solution. It starts with one person, and grows.
You may think Education doesn't belong on the top three, and some out there probably rolled your eyes when I put GeoEngineering first (that's a conspiracy theory) Really? I have posted before about GeoEngineering, and will post again.....Tomorrow.
How I know Education is in trouble: This isn't as simple and will take much more than a simple sentence. I will, over the course of a few posts, talk about Education and what is happening and how WE the people can STOP this madness (We are Not Cogs in a Machine).
Just wanted to give you all a heads up of things to come. As always, keep your chin up, and speak up, don't be afraid. You may be laughed at, but remember this....You are not alone.
My Thought of the Day: What do you think is the Most Urgent thing Threatening Humanity Today?
Hugs and Kisses, Elicia.
Thought of the Day (TOTD) Do you think school has to be compulsory? I have been watching and reading about compulsory education and the question seems very relevant. The first law was enacted in 1852 in Massachusetts (in USA) and required school for 8-14, for at least 3 months out of the year. Today we spend 1.1 trillion dollars, we have 81.5 million students. Though age ranges by state, the law generally is 6 to 17. (In Utah 6 to 18).
Okay, so maybe compulsory school is needed, I mean I would not disagree (double negative, sorry) that every child should be allowed to learn to read, write, and do arithmetic...The 3Rs...But I do see a trend. The compulsory age for education is trapping children for a longer period of their lives. As in some states require children to go from 5
to 18. What if they lowered it again to 3? What if it was 2? What if it changed to 22? As in 3 to 22 required by law? And the time was changed to 10 hours a day? Or maybe they took away summer vacation? Right now if a child were to take an extended vacation they could end up in truancy court. Let us not forget what happened in L.A., For many years the LAPD and school police ticketed thousands of students with $250.00 fines for being a few minutes late for school. You can read about it here.
AHHH...the question does become relevant.
If you would like to learn more about the history of Compulsory education, I found an interesting article Here. (Side note for my Utah readers, under Utah Law 62A-4a-201-1a,
Under both the United States Constitution and the constitution of this state, a parent possesses a fundamental liberty interest in the care, custody, and management of the parent's children." It also says that the state recognizes that parents have "the right, obligation, responsibility, and authority" to educate their children and that "the state's role is secondary and supportive to the primary role of a parent." ...this is a good thing, meaning we have the fundamental right to home-school our children).
Back to the question...And thought of the day? Do you think school should be compulsory? If yes: What ages? What time frame?
(3-18, 11 months a year, 6 days a week, 12 hours a day)
What I believe children need to learn: Language Arts (sub: grammar, writing, spelling, vocabulary). Math (not common core) Art. Physical Education & Nutrition. Science (to include Educational Tech). Either Foreign Language or Music. Life Skills (Parenting, Money Management (debt is bad), Resume writing, time management, etc.) History. But I would break school down very differently (6-8: 3 years) (9-12: 4 years)(13-14: 2 years) (15-16: 2 years)(17-18: 2 years)
5 days a week, 10 months out of the year. (the 10 months would have a 2 weeks off throughout the year, and the age groups would obviously fluctuate could be 5-7...or 6-8...so on...Plus I would have a skill level...Break the class into sub-groups so the fast learners aren't hurt...As in Some may go faster in math, but slower in reading...they should be able to shine when they can...and given extra help when they can. Class size could be at 10 by having a teacher for each subject...Save money by getting ride of unneeded things...I could think of a LOT..) 6-8: 3 years
(4 hours a day, 5 days a week, 10 months) ** You can break it down into 2 classes, one in the morning, one in the afternoon, would keep the schools smaller.
The Focus: Language Arts, Art, Math, Music or Foreign Language, and PE. Sample: Language Art 1 hour (20 minutes each sub group) Math 45 minutes.
Music 45 minutes. Art 45 minutes. PE 45 minutes. ***No computer...all paper. 9-12: 4 years
(6 hours a day, 5 days a week, 10 months) LA: 1 hr, Math 1 hr, Art 1 hr, PE & Nutrition 1 hr, Foreign Language or Music 1 hr, Science 1 hr. (A special class, after school for sexual education, focusing on changing of the body and emotional impact of sex.) 13-14: 2 years (7 hours a day, 5 days a week, 10 months) add 1 hr history to above schedule.
15-16: 2 years
(8 hours a day, 3 days a week, 10 months) add 1 hr Life skills. (shave 10 minutes off each class for lunch) Graduate at 16 17-18: New College....Associates Degree. (Free!!!!)
And no Compulsory education.
Why? I don't believe any parent would deny their children education, and if they would there is probably a different problem going on in their home, thus DCFS, could step in. I believe that child labor laws should remain, and the State should only be a back stop, not a third parent. ..... But this is just my idea...What are your? As always, have a beautiful day. :) And remember, to leave a comment, you only need to leave a first name and a comment, no signing up...no other info require.
Thought of the day: You! Yes you whom visits my website or facebook
.... I often wonder, and know that I do offend some people, I really can't help that...however I don't want to make anyone hurt. I try to speak about what is in my heart and what concerns me. I know that too often people get mad when I talk about not-spanking or how I question the scientific data on medication and vaccination. To that end, know that I am fighting for you. I am, above all else, for the person. I believe that each and every person should have the right to be free. If you feel I am going overboard, please feel free to email me or comment, normally I am a reasonable person
, I will try to hear you out: As long as we keep my children out of it. (I fight to bring Parent's Rights to the table...So in the end, even though I am against spanking, as long as you don't abuse your child, I am fighting for your right to raise your child as you see fit, after all, you know and love your child best) I do love my fellow human being and though our opinions clash or we can't see eye to eye....In the end...that is what life is all about. So I hope to continue on this journey with you and I hope we both grow from all our interactions. Be well and know Peace today. Your Friend. Elicia
