I am writing to you because you can and do have the ability to help change the dismal future our child face. This may sound dire and over exaggerated, but I assure you this is very important. Our children are beautiful creatures, the future awaits them, their minds are shaped and little seeds are planted that will grow and flourish when they are adults. These seeds are what I would like to talk to you about.
So you may be asking yourself, how do I know what is on the test. Well I don’t, but I do know what is on the lessons that your child is learning because I sit with my children through each and every lesson. This is time consuming, however it is nice because then I can fight back against things I do not agree with.
Some lessons I think you the parent need to be privy to are as follows. Please note at the end of this letter I will give you some advice on how I combat this blatant propaganda. Please note it is important to remember the following lessons are not about whether or not you agree with the lesson, it is about the seemingly hidden agenda behind the lesson. These lesson are using terms: “Good” and “Bad” as if everything, and I do mean everything is black or white.
GMO Lesson for 10th grade Science:
The children are given only 2 sides to the story. The Genetically Modified Rice story, on feeding many children who go blind because they only have rice to eat. The story line is very emotional, and it ends with the scientist helping through Genetically Modifying the Rice and putting in valuable vitamin A. Basically if you want to help the poor children in third world countries, you will support GMO’s. The other side they use information on Prince Charles. He brings Religion into it, saying it is against God’s Will. And that is it. The children get to hear PRO GMO from Scientists, and against from a Prince in another country that only talks about God. They are pitting science against religion.
Again: This is not about Pro or Against GMO….It is about the slanting of information. Your child is hearing only 1 scientist say it is good, and 1 prince from another country who says that God wouldn’t like it. If that isn’t one-sided, especially because it is in a Science class, I don’t know what is.
What did we do when we faced this lesson: My 10th grader at the time found many, many SCIENTIFIC articles that showed the good, bad, and downright ugly side of GMO? The children, through an on-line discussion portal, were horrified when they heard about the “terminator” seed, about corporations suing farmers, about how India stood up and said no to the seed hording, on and on. The children listened, and agreed that the lesson was slanted, and they, in the end, felt that it was not right for any corporation to have a seed patent. (This would not have happened if we had not known)
The Two Bad Ants. Please go to YouTube and watch one of the many people reading it.
Here is a Plot Summary: When an ant scout returns home with a mysterious crystal, the queen ant decides it is the most delicious food she has ever tasted. That evening the other ants, wishing to make the queen happy, set off on a journey to fetch home as many of these crystals as they can carry. The journey is a dangerous one. Following the scout, the ants travel through the "forest" to the "mountain" they must climb in order to reach the treasure they seek. In the perilous and confounding world of the human kitchen, the ants find the bowl of delicious crystals. Hurrying home, they fail to notice that two small “bad” ants have stayed behind. The two ants have decided to tarry and eat crystals to their hearts' content. When morning comes, the ants are violently awoken by a large scoop lifting them out of the crystal jar and dropping them into a hot brown liquid. They manage one narrow escape after another until finally they decide to choose one last crystal each and leave this strange and frightening place. Lugging the crystals back home, they are glad to be doing the right thing and returning to their family….All in all they realize serving the queen is how to be a “good” ant.
What is this story teaching your child? I will leave that one up to you.
Now onto something a bit darker. Keep in mind, whether or not you are FOR or Against the Flu vaccination is not the point of me sharing. This is about your child’s ability to freely think, and come to their own conclusions when they are old enough to understand the ramifications of it.
Last year I did not take a screen shot and wish I did because the 3rd grade story was much more "propaganda" than this year. To summarize: The story is about a young boy driving in a car with his mother. It was raining outside, and he was complaining because he didn't want to get the flu shot. He said to his mom he wasn't even sick. She replied by saying that the vaccination was what kept him healthy. When he got to the doctor's office a little girl was sitting on her mother's lap crying. The little girl told her mother she was afraid to get the flu shot, her mother replied by saying that she nearly died the year before from the flu and didn't want that to happen this year. The little boy is so moved he decides to get the flu shot in front of the little girl. He does, gets a lollipop and feels like a hero. It ends with him stepping outside and the clouds part and the sun is shining.
Last year they learned about the Polio vaccination (not in science) and had to answer the following question:
Why is the Polio Vaccination so Important?
Then in the 4th grade they have the following story on Flu vaccination. Please note the last two sentences: "Healthy adults had to wait. People who could not get the shot had a BAD flu season."
NOW: This may not seem that important, but as each year passes, the Lessons on Vaccination grow and grow and grow:
You can do a Google Search: Vaccination Lesson Plan
An example of Learning Objectives:
After completing Part 1 of this lesson, students will be able to:
· Describe the Importance of vaccination to the development of human society
· Identify historic milestones in the development of vaccination procedures and vaccines
· Recognize the names of pioneers in the development of vaccines
· List the steps in the development and licensing of vaccines.
Why is this dangerous? The lessons NEVER once say that there are adverse reactions. The lessons NEVER talk about people who have died, CDC precautions, or give valid reasons why Parents choose not to vaccinate. Some lessons go so far as to ask your child WHY THE GOVERNMENT should step in and take away the PARENTS right to choose. Also NO lesson reports the following which is on the CDC website under: Contraindications and Precautions. LOOK IT UP PARENTS: Example:
It will say: Symptom or condition, it will name a Vaccine, then say whether or not you are to vaccinate:
Symptom: Allergic to Yeast: Vaccine: HB, HPV, all others. Vaccinate? No to HB, No to HPV, all others yes. QUESTION YOU SHOULD ASK YOURSELF: If it says NO to vaccinate the Hepatitis B because of a Yeast allergy…Why are they giving it to 1 day olds? The parent couldn’t possibly know if their child is allergic yet. BUT AGAIN…THIS IS NOT ABOUT IT BEING “bad” or “good” it is the fact that the lessons NEVER give both sides. THE LESSON NEVER tells your child that there are negative side effects to vaccines.
I don’t know about you but my child’s health is in my hands. If my child is vaccine injured I am the one that must take care of her, not the state. The lessons never talk about Vaccine injuries. The lessons never talk about the Vaccine makers being exempt from any liability. And to top it all off the Lesson is geared toward teaching your child to blindly follow those in charge, and goes so far to even convince your child that the GOVERNMENT should be in control over WHO does and does not get health care.
So you might ask yourself this:
Why are the schools giving slanted lessons?
Why are the schools using vague terms like “good” and “bad”?
Why are the schools teaching kids about “responsibilities” as in How to be a responsible citizen by obeying your leaders?
Why are the schools teaching, each and every year, about getting vaccinations in ENGLISH class?
Why are the schools telling children that humans are “bad” or “good” by their actions?
Why are the schools teaching kids as young as 6 about Sad things: Killing of whales, children being forced into labor, The twin towers falling and people dying?
Why are they teaching kids to use Emotional Words to get laws passed?
Why was Propaganda legalized in the United States on 12/29/12 under HR 4310, fyi, it was banned in 1948 under the Smith-Mundt act?
What can I do?
First: Know that your schools are not your schools anymore. The Common Core Standards are now running the show. Educate yourself on this.
Second: Talk to your children. Tell them that Science is more than Fact vs. Fiction. Science is an ever growing process. Talk about the Scientific method. Science is not a religion. I am going to repeat that: Science is NOT a religion, science is founded on asking questions…always. Science was designed to ASK QUESTIONS. Science is ever changing. Note: Science use to teach that smoking was good. The smoking industry had SCIENTIFIC information saying that smoking didn’t cause cancer. Some people paid with their life because the scientific community was bought and paid for by the tobacco industry.
Third: Teach your children to QUESTION everything!!!!
Forth: Teach your kids about propaganda. When a lesson is using “emotions” to teach, outside of creative writing, the child should take a step back and look for more information.
Fifth: Get your children books they will love to read. This is the MOST important step, at least in my opinion. I find that children are being forced to read sad stories, boring stories, and about things they just don’t like. This is dangerous, because it robs them of being able to explore and think for themselves. I don’t care if they read vampire stories, Harry Potter, or Death Note…neither should you…because a child that reads ON THEIR OWN…A STORY THEY CHOOSE…will understand the importance of letting the mind explore other options.
Sixth: Create a STRONG bond with your child. Your child needs to trust you. Your child needs your love. Your child needs your guidance.
Seventh: If you don’t agree with a lesson SPEAK UP!!! We need to SHARE>>>
Last note: Your child is your child, a gift. It is not up to society to make things better. It is not up to the government to make things better. It is up to us. It is time we all STEP UP!!!! Step up now…or one day you will wake up and realize you are simply a breading machine for the state.
As always thank you for joining me. This blog is brought to you by: Elicia Clegg
