Okay, those are the components, remember both the CDC (which no longer lists the components) and the Manufacturer recommend that you do not take this or any vaccine that you have Allergies or anaphylactic reactions to. Easy way to put this: If you are allergic to peanuts…you don’t eat peanuts. Or inject them.
Aluminum Hydroxide: Is a naturally occurring mineral. It is an antacid. From drugs . com, Aluminum hydroxide may pass into breast milk and could harm a nursing baby. Aluminum hydroxide side effects: severe stomach pain or constipation. Bloody, black, or tarry stools. Coughing up blood that looks like coffee grounds. Pain when you urinate. Extreme drowsiness, tired, loss of appetite, and muscle weakness.
Amino Acids: One of a large group of organic compounds marked by the presence of both an amino group and a carboxyl group. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and the end products of protein digestion.
Benzethonium Chloride: (Cameo Chemicals . noaa . gov): Odorless white crystals or powder with a very bitter taste. Health Hazard: symptoms of exposure may include: vomiting, collapse, convulsions and coma. Others may include corrosion or injury to the mucous membranes. Nausea, esophageal damage and necrosis, hypotension and death. It may also cause dyspnea, cyanosis, paralysis of respiratory muscles, and central nervous system depression.
ALSO: Acute or Chronic Hazards: This compound is highly toxic by ingestion.
Formaldehyde: A colorless, pungent, irritant gas commonly made by oxidation of methyl alcohol, the simplest member of the aldehyde group. An aqueous solution of 37% formaldehyde (formalin) is used as a preservative. This CHEMICAL has been SHOWN TO BE CARCINOGENIC in certain animals and may be carcinogenic in HUMANS.
Formalin: See above formaldehyde.
Poisoning: Aluminum signs: Nausea, vomiting, renal dysfunction, and COGNITIVE DISORDERS that result from excessive exposure to aluminum. Aluminum toxicity-impaired cognition (dialysis dementia) in patients with end-stage renal disease has been practically eliminated now that dialysates no longer contain aluminum.
Package Insert Selective Information and Warnings:
4 CONTRAINDICATIONS: Do not administer BioThrax to individuals with a history of anaphylactic or anaphylactic-like reaction following a previous dose of BioThrax or any component of the vaccine.
(Anaphylaxis: A type I hypersensitivity (allergic) reaction between an allergenic antigen and immunoglobulin E (IgE) bound to mast cells, which stimulates the sudden release of immunological mediators locally or throughout the body. The first symptoms occur within minutes, and a recurrence may follow hours later. It is categorized as local or systemic. Local anaphylactic reactions include hay fever, hives, and allergic gastroenteritis. Systemic anaphylaxis, which produces peripheral vasodilation bronchospasm, and laryngeal edema, can be life threatening.)
Pregnant woman should not get the Vaccine, because it can cause fetal harm.
Any history of anthrax disease may increase the potential for severe local adverse reactions.
Adverse Reactions: The most common greater than or equal to 10%: tenderness, pain, erythema, edema, and arm motion limitation. The most common, greater than or equal to 5%, systemic adverse reactions were muscle aches, headache, and fatigue.
The following adverse events, not previously listed in Section 6.1, have been identified during post- approval use of BioThrax. Because these events are reported voluntarily from a population of uncertain size, it is not always possible to reliably estimate their frequency or establish a causal relationship to drug exposure. The reports included below are listed due to one or more of the following factors: (1) seriousness of the event, (2) number of reports, or (3) strength of causal relationship to the drug.
• Blood and lymphatic system disorders Lymphadenopathy • Gastrointestinal Disorders Nausea • Immune system disorders Allergic reactions (including anaphylaxis, angioedema, rash, urticaria, pruritus, erythema multiforme, anaphylactoid reaction, and Stevens Johnson syndrome) • Nervous system disorders Paresthesia syncope, dizziness, tremor, ulnar nerve neuropathy • Musculoskeletal, connective tissue, and bone disorders Arthralgia, arthropathy, myalgia, rhabdomyolysis, alopecia • General disorders and administration site conditions Malaise, pain, cellulitis, flu-like symptoms • Psychiatric disorders Insomnia • Skin and Subcutaneous disorders Pruritis, rash, urticaria • Vascular disorders Flushing
Infrequent reports were also received of multisystem disorders defined as chronic symptoms involving at least two of the following three categories: fatigue, mood-cognition, and musculoskeletal system.
