So on to the story. I am driving to the post office, which consists of passing a high-school making a left, a right, a left, and another right. I am driving by the huge high-school and a student starts walking in the crosswalk, so naturally I stop, no big deal. This is when the lady in question pulls up behind me...she looks to be in a hurry, and I get it, we all have places to go, and aint no one got time to waist. (aint, aint, a word, and you aint supposed to say it, if you say aint five times, you aint going to heaven.)
I follow the law with crosswalks, I wait until the student is fully across the street, I don't wait for them to simply pass by my side of the road and then go (Which, regardless of the law, is the right thing to do..they're kids for goodness sake). The woman is getting angry, I can see it on her face...and the student is walking awfully slow. (I think the universe was testing our patience today) Finally, after what felt like eternity, the boy steps onto the sidewalk and I start going. Mind you we are still in a school zone, only 25-mph. The lady says: Screw it. (at least I imagine her saying this...well okay, my imagination is a bit more colorful and she said a much more choice word ;) ) She presses on the accelerator, swoops around me, cuts back in front of me and proceeds to get in the left turning lane. Mind you this is all in the span of about a half-a city block.
As she is passing me, she looks over at me, and for some reason, she looks a little frightened. I Don't know why. Maybe it is because I am a strong looking woman, or maybe I just happen to look like a demon in this moment in time...I can't be sure.
She turns left...I have to turn left. We drive another block and she turns right, I turn right, another block, a left, I turn left...She adjusts her rearview mirror, I think she thinks I am stalking her. One more right...and I take a right...by now I am sure that she is sure that I am stalking her. So, I kid you not...The poor lady turns into the post-office. At this point I am thinking, should I just drive by? NO! I pull in, but decide I will simply do the drive-through.
Poor lady. She needs to calm down a bit. Not only did she put herself in danger...she probably put a big fright into herself. Man, I am sure she turned five shades of white when I pulled in to that parking lot.
Moral of the story: Chill out. Unless you are rushing to the hospital...maybe try to use a little kindness and not worry about gaining that extra thirty seconds. And remember, sometimes, things aren't as they seem (but you should be careful, we know how road rage leads to killings). I hope everyone is having a Blessed Day!!! See you all on the Flip-Side.
