Interesting quote: It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it. Aung San Suu Kyi.
I like that, and I think it helps, at least it helps me, understand why big pharma does what it does. They see that they are losing their hold on power, and in a desperate attempt to hold onto it, they have been corrupted. How sad.
Eskinder Nega, an Ethiopian blogger was sentenced to 18 years in prison. He wrote and posted an article that criticized the use of terrorism laws to silence dissent and called on the government to respect free speech and end torture. This of course was against the law under the Anti-Terrorism Proclamation. (If this was America many people would be in jail right now). Imagine that, really think it over. A man was put in jail because he asked the government to respect free speech and end torture.
Mexico: Physical attacks and MURDER: Adrian Silva Moreno was shot to death in Puebla State after investigating a large-scale theft of gasoline from a government petroleum company. Since 2000: 100 journalists and bloggers have been murdered or have disappeared.
India: Aseem Trivedi faced life in prison for a cartoon. Lucky for him a public outcry was listened to and he was released on bail and the sedition charges were dropped.
United Arab Emirates: 2012 Cybercrime law has penalties for offending the State, its Rulers, Symbols, or insulting Islam.
Nabil Ayouch is now in trouble with law enforcement in Morocco because he made a film about the problems of prostitution in this country.
Manipulation of Content. While it is Russia under attack in the Huffington post under freedom house and the many types of online censorship forms, I think many educated people knows that this is happening in every country. PAID COMMENTATORS: In Russia these paid people rarely disclose their links to officials, defame the government’s critics and try to drown out online discussions of sensitive subjects. Some high-profile bloggers are paid to promote a pro-government line. In America, we know them as ASTROTURFERS.
Sharyl Attkisson actually wrote an article on the Top 10 Astroturfers. I list the Top 10 here, but to learn more about these Astroturfers please visit Sharyl’s Website: https://sharylattkisson.com/top-10-astroturfers/

While I can go on and on, I won’t because I want to keep this short. Censorship comes in many forms, and we can justify it all we want. We want to protect the fragile eggshell minds of children, which I agree with, to a point, and to a certain age. But when it comes to adults, it is nothing more than a ploy to control. Logic dictates that one must have ALL the information in order to make the right choice. If you don’t have ALL the information, how can you in good faith make the right choice?
To be fair. I found an article that argues that censorship is needed because we don’t live in a perfect world. It is very good. I was not swayed by it, but if I were to be this would be the argument to do it. It is on ASAE The Center For Association Leadership. Censorship: An Ugly word in Science. Don’t let the title fool you, they want censorship and they use Fear to spin it. http://www.asaecenter.org/Resources/EUArticle.cfm?ItemNumber=11613
Now I cannot stop the censorship that takes place on social websites. So I will go back to my original format of posting my “controversial” posts on my websites Feed. This gives me control over my content. So in the future, as we getting squeezed out of Social Websites because we are controversial…a.k.a…against the “normal” story line…I will always be there. If they shut me down: I will use snail mail. After all, where there is a will, there is a way.
Peace out my friends.
